Effective date: 1 October 2026
Provider: Astrid Technology Ltd, Plot 156 Namugongo - Bulindo Road, Kampala, Uganda
1. Agreeing to these terms
These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Astrid Technology Ltd ("Astrid", "we", "us"). They apply when you use the Astrid Church App Generator (the "Service"). That includes the dashboard at app.astridtechnology.site, the church web apps it hosts at <church>.astridtechnology.site, and the Android apps it generates.
By creating an account, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and the church you register. You also confirm that you are allowed to act for that church. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data, and forms part of these terms.
2. The service
The Service lets a church build and manage its own branded app. Features include the church's YouTube live streams, videos and playlists, audio sermons, events, announcements, ministries, leaders, service times and giving details. Each church gets a web app that members can install on their phone and, on the Pro plan, an Android app.
Church members who use a church's app do not need an account. They use it under the church's own responsibility and these terms' acceptable use rules.
3. Your account
- You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
- Tell us straight away at ask@astridtechnology.site if you think someone else has accessed your account.
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
4. Plans, free trial and payment
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly |
| Free | UGX 0 | UGX 0 |
| Basic | UGX 50,000 | UGX 500,000 |
| Pro | UGX 150,000 | UGX 1,500,000 |
| Enterprise | Quoted on request |
- Yearly billing costs the same as 10 months, so you get 2 months free.
- Free trial: every new church gets the Pro plan free for its first 30 days. At the end of the trial the church moves to the Free plan automatically unless it pays for a plan. There is no automatic charge.
- How to pay: payment is currently made manually by MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money or bank transfer, using the details shown on the Billing page. You then submit the transaction reference in the dashboard. We activate or extend the plan once we have confirmed the payment, normally within one working day.
- When a plan ends: paid plans run for the period paid for. If you do not renew, the church moves to the Free plan. Paid features stop working, but your content is kept and comes back when you renew.
- Refunds: payments are for a fixed period and are generally not refundable. We will refund a duplicate or mistaken payment, or where Ugandan law requires it.
- Price changes: we may change prices. We will give at least 30 days' notice, and a change never affects a period you have already paid for.
5. Your church's content
Your church keeps ownership of everything it adds: text, logos, photos, sermon audio, events and other material ("Your Content").
You give Astrid a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, format, display and distribute Your Content. This licence is only for running the Service, for example to show it in your church's web and Android apps. It ends when Your Content is deleted, except for copies kept in routine backups for a short time.
You are responsible for Your Content. You confirm that:
- you have the rights to publish it, including rights to any music, recordings, images or other material by other people;
- you have consent from people whose names, photos or contact details you publish, such as leaders and ministry heads;
- it is lawful and does not infringe anyone's rights.
Your church's giving details, such as mobile money numbers and bank accounts, are shown to members exactly as you enter them. Donations go directly to the church; Astrid does not handle, receive or guarantee them.
6. YouTube
The Service uses YouTube API Services to show your church's public YouTube channel. By using these features you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
You must only connect a YouTube channel that belongs to your church or that you are allowed to use. Videos remain hosted on YouTube, and YouTube's rules apply to them.
7. Android apps
- On the Pro plan, we generate a signed Android app for your church. You can share the app file (APK) directly with members, or publish it on Google Play.
- To publish on Google Play, your church uses its own Google Play developer account and is the publisher of the app. You must follow Google Play's policies and pay any Google fees yourself.
- We keep your app's upload signing key securely on our servers, so that we can build updates for you. If you close your account, you can ask us for a copy of the key first.
8. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to:
- publish content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, or that incites violence;
- infringe copyright, trademarks or other people's rights;
- impersonate another church, person or organization, or mislead people about who you are;
- collect money under false pretences or run fraudulent fundraising;
- send spam, or distribute malware;
- attack, overload, probe or try to break the security of the Service or other churches' apps.
9. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may carry out maintenance, and we may add, change or remove features. If we remove a feature that is central to a paid plan, we will tell you in advance and offer a fair alternative or a pro-rata refund of the unused period.
We keep regular backups, but you should keep your own copies of important material such as sermon recordings.
10. Suspension and closing your account
- You can stop using the Service at any time. To close your account and delete your church's data, contact us using the details in Section 15.
- We may suspend or remove content, a church app or an account that breaks these terms or the law, or that puts other users or the Service at risk. Where reasonable, we will contact you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
- If we stop offering the Service entirely, we will give at least 60 days' notice and help you export your content.
11. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, templates and the Astrid name and logo, belongs to Astrid Technology Ltd. These terms do not give you any right to them, except the right to use the Service as described here. Church apps may show a small "Powered by Astrid" credit.
12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent allowed by law, we exclude implied warranties such as fitness for a particular purpose.
To the extent allowed by law, Astrid is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost donations, lost income or lost data. We are also not liable for content published by churches or for services run by others, including YouTube, Google Play and mobile money providers. Our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under Ugandan consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. If a dispute comes up, please contact us first so that we can try to resolve it informally. If it cannot be resolved, the courts of Uganda have jurisdiction.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service changes. We will change the "Effective date" above when we do. For important changes, we will notify church administrators by email or in the dashboard at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the updated terms.
